Credit System
How credits work — pre-deduction, automatic refunds, account types, and consumption order.
Credits are the currency for AI generation in Clickraft. Every image, video, or AI text processing costs credits, and the system is designed to be transparent and fair.
How Credits Work
1. Pre-deduction
Credits are deducted before generation starts. This ensures you always have sufficient balance before the AI begins processing.
2. Generation
The AI model runs and produces your content. Generation time varies by model and output type.
3. Completion or refund
If generation succeeds, the credits are consumed. If generation fails for any reason, credits are automatically refunded to your account.
You never lose credits to failed generations. The automatic refund system ensures you only pay for successful results.
Credit Costs
Credit costs vary based on:
- Model — Higher-tier models cost more credits
- Output type — Video generation costs more than image generation
- Duration — Longer videos cost more credits
- Resolution — Higher resolution (e.g., 1080p vs 720p) costs more
The exact credit cost is always shown on the model selector in the canvas before you run generation.
Credit Account Types
Your organization can hold credits from four sources, consumed in this priority order:
| Priority | Account | How You Get Them | Expiry |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1st | Subscription | Included with your plan each month | Reset at billing cycle |
| 2nd | Purchased | Bought via Credit Packs | Never expire |
| 3rd | Promotional | Marketing promotions and events | Varies |
| 4th | Referral | Earned through the referral program | Varies |
Consumption Order
When you generate content, credits are deducted from your accounts in priority order:
- Subscription credits are used first (since they reset monthly)
- Purchased credits are used next (they never expire, so they're preserved)
- Promotional and referral credits are used last
This order ensures you get the most value — expiring credits are consumed before permanent ones.
Checking Your Balance
Your credit balance is visible in:
- The dashboard header
- The Settings > Billing page (with breakdown by account type)
- The canvas when selecting a model (shows cost vs. available balance)
Monthly Reset
Subscription credits reset at the start of each billing cycle:
- Unused subscription credits do not roll over
- Purchased credits are unaffected by the monthly reset
- Your balance after reset = remaining purchased credits + new monthly allowance
Tips
- Monitor your balance before large batch generations
- Use Draft-tier models for prompt iteration to conserve credits
- Purchased credits never expire — buy credit packs when you need extra capacity
- Failed generations are always refunded — don't worry about wasting credits on experiments
